Last weekend, at the Dox Center for Contemporary Art in Prague, the world premiere of the exhibition „This Place“ was taking place. The project „This Place“
is an international photography project initiated by French Photographer Fréderic Brenner
who invited 11 international photographers to participate in a joint project on
Israel and the West Bank. These photographers are Wendy Ewald, Martin Kollar,
Josef Koudelka, Jungjin Lee, Gilles Peress, Fazal Sheikh, Stephen Shore, Rosalind
Solomon, Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, Nick Waplington and Frederic Brenner himself. Part of the
opening weekend were three roundtables with the participating photographers and
a guided tour. Below you find some impressions of the weekend. It was an
amazing possibility to get a deeper insight into the work of these well know
photographers and an interesting and controversial opportunity to get in touch
with questions about the visual representation of Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
A review in German and maybe in English of the exhibition will follow here and in different media.
